But as I have started to cutting processed foods out of my diet, the packaged ramen I used to frequently eat has become much less desirable. I still love to sit down to a warm bowl of ramen though, so I have learned to make a quick and easy ramen out of the more wholesome ingredients that I keep around my house.
Can I Just Use Chicken Broth For Ramen?
You can just use chicken broth or bouillon for ramen, but in order to give it more depth of flavor similar to a restaurant style ramen it is important to add additional ingredients. I find that some soy sauce, a little vinegar, ginger, and garlic enhance the broth to make it perfect for a delicious ramen.

How to Make Chicken Stock Taste Like Ramen?
In order to make any broth taste more like ramen a few ingredients are needed. Soy sauce adds saltiness and a nice umami flavor. Ginger and garlic can add depth and a bit of heat to the broth and for more zing a splash of vinegar can be added.
Main Ingredients for Ramen
- 4 cups chicken broth (I prefer bone broth, but any can be used)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (tamauri or coconut aminos can be used for gluten or soy free)
- 2 tbsp vinegar (I prefer apple cider but rice or white vinegar also work)
- 1/2 tbsp minced ginger (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger )
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder )
- 4 green onions sliced

How to Make Easy Ramen Chicken Broth
Put all the ingredients in a pot and let simmer for 5-10 minutes until the flavors meld together.
Add any veggies and noodles you desire to your easy ramen chicken broth base.
